Job Description: Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council currently have an opportunity for a Category Manager to support Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council's Adult Social Care category.
Playing a key role in the development and delivery of the sourcing and supply strategy, you will assist in managing all stages of the procurement process including:
- User needs analysis
- Market research
- Sourcing activity
- Structuring tenders
- Market engagement
- Tender evaluation
- Negotiation
- All contractual matters
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a procurement/commercial environment
- A robust commercial outlook with an understanding of risk
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex information
- Experience of stakeholder management, with strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Experience in public sector procurement and commissioning (desirable)
