Medical Summariser

Overview

Colchester Medical Practice has a fantastic opportunity for a Medical Summariser to join their team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate may be required to work or assist at one of Colchester Medical Practice's other sites. This role involves summarising patient records according to a set protocol agreed by the practice.

Main duties of the job

• Summarising new patient records to a high standard within an agreed time scale.
• Using medical knowledge to correct mistakes found in existing patients' records.
• Maintaining a structured approach when recording new information.
• Assisting GPs with queries relating to medical records.
• Other duties as required within the nature of this role.

• Administrative experience and good organisation skills.
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in MS Office and clinical systems.
• Experience in read-coding and workflow clinical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach.
• Understanding of confidentiality and data security.
• Ability to multi-task and work accurately under pressure.
• Team player and comfortable working independently.
