Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cancer Centre Team based primarily at Hospital Close, Leicester General. The role will involve working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate and coordinate the function of a Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, ensuring it runs effectively and follows up on agreed outcomes to support an effective patient pathway.

Main duties of the job

  • Key responsibility for monitoring and tracking patients on a suspected cancer pathway, ensuring compliance with Next Steps and adherence to waiting times targets.
  • Monitor and track referrals with suspected cancer to ensure appointments and treatment are booked on time.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the function of Cancer MDT meetings.
  • Collect data for all cancer and enter this onto an appropriate database.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Track patients referred as suspected cancer and ensure diagnostics and follow-up appointments meet agreed targets.
  • Provide administrative support for MDT meetings, including recording attendance and collating outcomes.
  • Ensure timely action of MDT outcomes for patients.
  • Work collaboratively with medical secretaries and clinic coordinators to manage patient information.

Person Specification

Education

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.

Experience

  • 2 years administrative experience.
  • Experience of dealing with customers/patients.
  • Experience of data input.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise schedules and workloads.
