Cambridgeshire County Council's Care Leavers team is looking for a team manager to work alongside two others, to support 20 personal advisors and 3 specialist advisors in delivering the Council's ‘Local Offer’. This outlines the support that Cambridgeshire County Council provides care experienced young people, from housing to health and from education to finance.

The local offer is part of Cambridgeshire County Council's commitment to ensuring no one is left behind, allowing all young people, whatever their background or circumstances, to receive the education and support they need to have the best possible start in life, and to pursue happy and successful lives.

The team follows a Pathway Planning process for care experienced young people (predominantly 18-25 years old) transitioning to adulthood, working with various professionals to ensure a joined-up approach focusing on the holistic needs of each young person.

This role includes diverse and impactful responsibilities:

  • Line manage approximately 8 members of staff, supporting their professional growth and creating a positive team environment.
  • Drive the progress of Pathway Plans, regularly reviewing and enhancing them to ensure optimal support and sustainable outcomes for each unique young person.
  • Attend, facilitate, and chair meetings to ensure they are purposeful and create a collaborative environment for effective communication and decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external colleagues to facilitate seamless transitions for young people into adulthood.
  • Produce comprehensive reports for Senior Management, offering insights into the team's performance and providing transparent information for strategic decision-making.
  • Work with other team managers to facilitate planning of suitable accommodation, education, and employment opportunities for care experienced young people.

About you: You will have robust experience in Children's Social Care, including familiarity with legal frameworks, statutory requirements, and guidance for care-experienced young people. You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration.
  • Have the ability to work from various locations and travel countywide independently.
