Position: Part Time Conveyancer

Due to continued growth, JS Legal Recruitment Ltd's client now has an opportunity for an experienced Part Time Conveyancer to join their in-house property team.

The Role

• Reporting to the company Solicitor heading the Plot Team.
• Direct responsibility for managing and running your own case load of plot sales (including part-exchange acquisitions and releases).
• Preparing individual plot documentation and part-exchange title reports.
• Building relationships with purchaser’s solicitors, the Group Legal Department, and regional operating companies.
• Attending meetings with the sales team to review caseload.
• Dealing with post-completion matters such as SDLT returns and land registration where necessary.
• Advising and assisting on issues arising during plot sales and part-exchange transactions.
• Handling lease/transfer variations and reversion sales.
• Managing the recovery of retentions (non-litigious).
• Conducting AML checks.

Candidate

• An experienced and motivated Conveyancer or Fee Earner with a sound knowledge of residential conveyancing, practice, and procedure.
• Qualification through the Institute of Legal Executives, Council of Licensed Conveyancers, or at least a degree level in law is advantageous.
• Previous experience in handling plot sales for a residential house builder (either in-house or in private practice) is preferred.
• Ability to work with modern computer-based technology.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and possessing good team and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
