Job Position: Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Near Islington and East Acton London

Salary: £30,722 - £37,059 per annum (including London Weighting)

Able Personnel is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor for English and Mathematics. This role is permanent and involves working Monday to Friday for 37 hours per week, with specific hours from 8am to 5pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8am to 1pm (Friday). The position will split between two locations, and all mileage is paid.

Duties:

• Deliver up to level 2 functional skills in English and Mathematics.
• Conduct face-to-face sessions in a classroom environment.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to learners’ needs.
• Manage a caseload of 12 learners.
• Complete all planning and marking on-site during working hours.
• Work with learners in a men’s prison, ensuring all safeguarding measures are in place.
• Inspire and motivate learners to achieve qualifications.
• Provide accurate marking and feedback to support learner development.
• Produce reports and attend meetings.

Essential for the Role:

• Must be Teacher qualified.
• Experience in delivering English and mathematics to adult learners.
