Clinical Psychologist

Overview

Dorset HealthCare is seeking enthusiastic clinical/counselling psychologists or psychotherapists with a special interest in working with older people. This position is available for a band 8A but can support the career development of a band 7 through a preceptorship programme.

The role provides an opportunity to enhance your individual therapy skills and neuropsychological assessment skills. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, aiming to increase psychological thinking and offer consultations. Your responsibilities include managing a complex caseload and making evidence-based treatment decisions.

Main Duties of the Job

• Conduct highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions.
• Support the professional development of junior clinicians and trainees.
• Contribute to service development and enhance clinical leadership skills.

Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be covered by the Trust.

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Training

• Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology.
• Experience of clinical supervision.
• Membership of HCPC.

Job Specific Experience

• Clinical experience with adults with Learning Disabilities.
• Experience in specialist assessments.

Additional Requirements

• Able to travel using own vehicle.
• Must possess effective written and spoken English skills.
