Overview

Dstl’s Energetics Enclosure (EE) is expanding, and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory have an exciting opportunity for an Explosives Accounting Systems Operator to provide on-site support on explosive tasks. The role requires effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe working practices. You may have experience with energetics or transferable skills from a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

As the Explosives Accounting Systems Operator, you will:

• Manage the stock register for explosives.
• Provide accurate updates to the system, ensuring customers are informed about key dates regarding expiry and location.

• Ensure health and safety for yourself and others.
• Report unsafe practices and follow safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

Defence Science and Technology Laboratory is looking for candidates with:

• Competence in IT and accounting control systems/databases.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate stock records.
• Competence in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Full UK driving license (manual).

Education

Mathematics GCSE grade 4/C or above, English GCSE grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
