Head of HR - Full-time, Immediate Start

Demelza is looking for Demelza's next Head of HR to help shape and implement Demelza's strategic HR Plan. This pivotal role within Demelza's People Services function will:
- Be a strategic HR partner - working with all areas of Demelza to deliver high quality strategic and operational support, aligned to Demelza's Values and to drive performance.
- Champion FREDIE principles and employee wellbeing - supporting an inclusive and engaged work environment where everyone feels able to contribute and develop.
- Lead Safer Recruitment practices and resourcing - providing guidance and support across all activities to attract and retain talented people and contributing to Demelza's workforce strategy and development.
- Handle employee relations professionally - providing expert guidance on a range of matters and ensuring cases are handled with sensitivity, pragmatism and a person-centric approach.
- Provide professional leadership, support and development of the HR team - ensuring all HR activities are delivered within budget.
- Support pay review processes - providing guidance and input to ensure equity and fairness across all roles.
- Develop effective employment policies and procedures that comply with legislation and reflect Demelza's organisational Values.
- Drive improvement - leverage digital solutions and streamline processes to develop policies, procedures and processes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Qualification to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience in a similar senior HR role.
- Ability to see wider organisational impacts of HR practices and decisions.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain complex employment matters to a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience of conducting successful ER activities and investigations.
- Ability to be resourceful and keep up to date with best practice and case law development.
- Experience in managing and developing a high functioning team.
- Excellent IT skills and willingness to embrace digital developments to streamline HR processes where possible.
There is a requirement to cover the core hours of 10.00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday. Around these times Demelza is happy to discuss flexible working patterns to support a healthy work/life balance.
