Overview

Suffolk County Council is looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a desire to seek a career in emergency planning within the Local Authority, alongside achieving a recognised qualification in resilience and emergency planning.

Your apprenticeship will be with Suffolk County Council, based at Endeavour House, Ipswich, IP1 2BX. During the 42-month fixed-term apprenticeship, you will receive hands-on training and academic study at Coventry University, with a view to achieving a degree in Resilience and Emergency.

Your apprenticeship details:

  • Level 6 Resilience and Emergencies Professional
  • 42 months (3 years of study, with 6-month End Point Assessment period)

After successful completion, you will be well-equipped to pursue a career as an Emergency Planning Officer.

Team Overview

The Joint Emergency Planning Unit was formed in 2005 between Suffolk local authorities to provide a dedicated emergency planning and business continuity planning service.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-levels)
  • Relevant work experience or volunteering (e.g., Duke of Edinburgh Award, cadets)
