Overview

Leslie Best House, a supportive housing project, is seeking to hire a Full-Time Project Worker on a permanent contract to join the team.

Location

Based at Leslie Best House, Brighton, East Sussex.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £26,000.15 per annum plus additional pay for on-duty responsibilities.
  • Annual Leave: 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • Company Benefits: Company pension Free parking

Shift and Schedule

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm

Role Overview

As a Project Worker, you will provide support to clients with various needs, including addiction, mental or physical health, welfare benefits, budgeting, and cultural/faith considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Meet and consult with individual clients to assess needs and plan support goals.
  2. Oversee the achievement of support goals and adjust as necessary.
  3. Liaise with other organizations to provide care and advice.
  4. Attend supervision sessions and review individual cases.
  5. Maintain accurate records of each client’s needs and progress.
  6. Assist in day-to-day project operations, including social activities and meal provision.
  7. Ensure safety and compliance with health standards.
  8. Attend internal and external meetings as needed.
  9. Participate in on-call duties on a rota basis.
  10. Adhere to all policies regarding safeguarding and confidentiality.

Personal Specification

Knowledge and Understanding

  • Confidentiality and boundaries in worker/client relationships.
  • Understanding the needs of homeless/vulnerable clients.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and community care services.

Experience

Experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential. It’s more important to demonstrate the necessary skills for the role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to produce clear written reports.
  • Effective communication with diverse clients and agencies.
