About the job:
As a Carriage Cleaner, you will be crucial to Great Western Railway's depot maintenance team at Laira Depot, ensuring Great Western Railway's trains meet the highest cleanliness standards.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Performing cleaning activities using appropriate chemicals and techniques as per manuals.
- Identifying areas for improvement within the cleaning team.
- Fostering effective working relationships.
- Ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with safety standards.
- Carrying out depot cleaning tasks as needed.
- Addressing minor customer-facing defects when required.
You'll need to be:
- A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Able to follow set standards and meet deadlines.
- Committed to delivering top-notch cleaning services.
- Enthusiastic and well-organized in your work approach.
- Capable of handling biohazards safely.
- Open to working at various locations as needed.
- Willing to learn and partake in training opportunities.
As a minimum, you'll need:
- Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety regulations.
- Prior cleaning experience.
- NVQ level 1 or 2 in cleaning or support services is desirable.
- Experience in Business Improvement Training (BIT) is a plus.
