About The Role

OCS Group's client, The NEC Group, has five renowned entertainment venues, including the NEC, The Vox, Resorts World Arena, Utilita Arena Birmingham, and The ICC. Many of these venues have been re-launched and rebranded recently, receiving notable acclaim.

The Arenas host events over 210 days a year and welcome between 700,000 and 1 million visitors to each venue, featuring world-famous musicians like Justin Bieber and Take That, along with Championship sporting events such as World Darts and Crufts. Every day is different.

As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering security while ensuring high levels of customer service. OCS Group's teams support the NEC Group during event build-ups, live show days, breakdowns, and much more, ensuring a smooth and safe operation of all services.

This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a four on, four off basis, including weekends.

Main Duties:

• Act as a first line support to employees and visitors, providing professional and friendly service.
• Investigate and report allegations of loss, theft, criminal damage, and other incidents.
• Monitor fire, security, and building systems.
• Manage crowd safety and queue management.
• Ensure the safety of all residents, guests, and staff.
• Maintain pedestrian flow in key areas inside and outside the arena.
• React to emergency situations as per the Incident and Emergency Plans.
• Deterrence of anti-social behavior, theft, and criminal activity.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

• Essential SIA Licence.
• Experience in the security industry is advantageous.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• An enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
• Experience in a public-facing, customer service role.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time-keeping for pre-event briefings and training.
