Your graduate scheme

At Welsh Water, Welsh Water have developed a Graduate Programme, which will develop leaders for the future, promoting work to be completed across the business in a compliant manner, safely, on time, and to budget, whilst motivating Welsh Water's people to continually improve what they do and ‘earn the trust of Welsh Water's customers every day’.

It's Welsh Water's job to look after your water. Welsh Water supply high-quality drinking water to over 3 million customers in over 1.4 million homes and businesses across Wales. This means cleaning and delivering more than 800 million litres of water every day. Supplying safe drinking water is Welsh Water's most important responsibility, ensuring that Welsh Water's tap water is free from harmful chemicals and bacteria and has a good taste.

During your time as a Graduate, you will learn the foundations of leadership, effective team building, and how to lead and work effectively with others. These roles are primarily based in Welsh Water's Water and Waste Services departments, where you will spend 4 x 6 months in different business areas. This will be complemented by Career Safaris to give you maximum exposure to Welsh Water.

Your Welsh Water Management Graduate Programme will provide you with the opportunity to further develop your skills, knowledge, and experience.

Additionally, you will work on a variety of projects with your fellow graduates, allowing you to develop your interpersonal and leadership skills while collaborating with your peers. You will also have the opportunity to work on key business projects within your specialized field.

Good to Know

Welsh Water is flexible with location, so if you want to work in Wales then apply. Occasionally, with notice, you may be expected to travel to sites across Wales and its borders. The recruitment process will include a short assessment, followed by an in-person assessment centre in Cardiff between February and March 2025. Further information will be provided closer to the time. Welsh Water is looking for a CV and cover letter that demonstrates how you will make a difference and add value.
