Are you passionate about promoting and safeguarding the wellbeing and interests of children? Frontier Consulting have an exciting opportunity for you in the MASH team within the Referral & Assessment service.

The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) serves as the initial point of contact for all potential safeguarding concerns regarding children. This co-located team collaborates with various agencies to identify risks and needs of children promptly, ensuring effective responses. The goal of MASH is to make timely, informed decisions for families to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Note that the MASH team is required to work from Frontier Consulting's office for the first 3 months of the appointment.

Main Accountabilities

  • Promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of children/young people at all times.
  • Manage an independent workload, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and implement suitable interventions for complex cases.
  • Produce concise, structured assessments and reports, ensuring all recommendations are followed.
  • Ensure a clearly recorded transfer plan when cases are moved to other services.
  • Maintain accurate, evidence-based records confidentially and in line with statutory requirements.

Person Specification

  • Professional Social Work Degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable post-qualifying experience as a social worker with children and families.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework in Children’s Social Care.
  • Understanding of the rights of children, young people, and families.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social work interventions in at least one practice area.
  • Ability to gather and assess information in complex situations.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing workload independently.
  • Commitment to human rights and equality principles.
  • Experience with the statutory framework underpinning social work.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in electronic case management systems.
  • Current UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
