Salary: £30,033 to £31,440 per annum

Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term – Newham Council's Newham Money

Location: This role is based at Newham Council's Newham Money offices in Stratford.

Newham Council is seeking to recruit a Business Support Officer to join Newham Council's exciting and challenging Business Support Service, to help play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for residents of Newham. Newham Council seek individuals who share Newham Council's vision and can positively and enthusiastically contribute to the continuous improvement of the Business Support Service and Newham as an organisation.

Business Support provides administration to a wide range of services across the Council including Housing, Environment, Children’s and Adults’ services.

As a member of Business Support, you will be part of a busy administrative team working within either Newham Council's ‘Operational hub’ or the ‘Social Care hub’, carrying out a wide range of business processes to support Newham Council's internal and external service partners. Working together to achieve Newham Council's vision and make Newham Council's service as efficient and effective as possible.

About You

  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • An ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload
  • Methodical and logical thinkers
  • Able to work across a broad range of administrative and clerical tasks
  • Excellent IT literacy
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work and being a team member

  • Preferably have an understanding of Safeguarding or other aspects of social care
