Overview

The Senior Leisure Assistant (Wet) role is critical in maintaining safety and service standards within the facility. The key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the supervision standards of the lifeguarding team and coordinating staff rotation and break times.
  • Inspecting and cleaning all dry side areas as required, ensuring the highest cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Ensuring that poolside, surrounding areas, and the facility adhere to the Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) and Emergency Action Plans (EAP).
  • Providing clear communication with the leisure supervisor and reception team to effectively manage public access.
  • Assisting with National Pool Lifeguard training and ensuring Leisure Assistants perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinating with staff on shift to ensure timesheets are completed and submitted.
  • Supervising the control point and initiating the operation of leisure water features.
  • Responsible for the safe supervision of the facilities and ensuring the health and safety of all users.
  • Providing effective, preventative lifeguarding during all pool sessions.
  • Executing emergency action plans in the event of any accident or injury, including performing water rescues and first aid treatment as trained.
  • Maintaining physical and lifesaving training in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and additional standards set by High Life Highland.
  • Assisting with and supervising the efficient and safe operation of both water and land-based activities.
  • Organizing and leading activities and classes within the program as needed.
  • Encouraging safe and acceptable user behavior.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained to required safety and cleanliness standards, set out and stored safely as needed.
  • Liaising with other users and centre staff regarding daily operations.
  • Reporting improvements to the centre manager or supervisors to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Carrying out facility cleaning programs to meet required standards.
  • Performing reception and cashier duties, including admission and cash control.
  • Delivering high levels of customer care at all times.
  • Attending training sessions as required to achieve and maintain relevant qualifications.
