Overview

Job Title: Kitchen Porter

Reporting To: Head Chef

Hours: Full-time, shift patterns available ranging from early mornings, daytimes, and evenings. Shifts primarily 4-5 days out of 7.

Location: Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort, Ballymena

About the Role: Galgorm have a selection of restaurants at the resort, making Galgorm's kitchens busy environments. Your main responsibility will be to ensure kitchen cleanliness and assist with general food preparation. Galgorm is looking for individuals with excellent, hard-working attitudes. Galgorm Collection offers internal opportunities for Galgorm's employees, and kitchen porters often progress to kitchen assistants.

Job Description:

• Washing dishes, pots, and providing required equipment in the kitchen.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing areas including walls, fridges, floors, racks, and anything else required by the chefs.
• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation.
• Following all Company and Statutory Fire, Health, Safety, and Hygiene Regulations.
• Responsibility for the security and safe handling of all equipment used.
• Carrying out any other duties set by Senior Chefs in the kitchen.

• Must be able to use their own initiative and work well under pressure.
• Be an excellent team player.
• Have a flexible approach to working shift patterns, available for days, evenings, and weekends.
• Have the ability to communicate well with other team members.

Desirable:

• Have previous experience working in a kitchen.
