About the Role
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students.
- Contribute to meeting the aims and targets of pupils' EHCPs.
- Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
- Develop and enhance the teaching practice of others in relation to supporting literacy in the classroom.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
Teaching and Instructing Responsibilities
- Undertake an appropriate programme of support and intervention as outlined in the support worker's generic job description.
- Plan and deliver literacy/numeracy/intervention lessons tailored to meet the needs of each pupil.
- Conduct lessons in both 1:1 settings and full class groups as appropriate.
- Assess pupil progress during lessons and use this information to plan the next steps to ensure good progress.
