New Vision Bradford is a partnership between the Bridge Project, Project 6, and Waythrough. Under this umbrella, the partnership delivers an adult substance misuse service for the Bradford and Craven District, aiming to help people tackle the misuse of alcohol and drugs and reduce risk-taking behaviors through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support.
Role Overview
The Bridge Project is looking to recruit a Group Worker on a full-time permanent basis to deliver various group sessions, including:
- Drink down sessions
- Opiate sessions
- Preparation for alcohol detox sessions
This role serves a wide range of individuals, from entry into treatment to aftercare planning. Additionally, there will be opportunities for the postholder to develop new group sessions in response to client needs, alongside the established group program.

This position will support service users in regaining their confidence and engaging in everyday activities.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant professional qualification in Health and Social Care, or a Social Work degree
- At least 2 years of full-time or equivalent experience working with individuals facing alcohol and/or drug problems or with complex needs within the last 4 years
Skills Required
Successful applicants will possess:
- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues
- Good knowledge of adult and child safeguarding
- Ability to identify recovery-focused activities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Capacity to manage time effectively while working cooperatively with colleagues
Working Hours and Flexibility
There is an element of flexibility around working hours required by the postholder. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the position.
