Assistant Chef Manager

Location: Brackenhill Primary School

Pay: £11.59 per hour

An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for an Assistant Chef Manager to join the team at Brackenhill Primary School. You will assist the Chef Manager in the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring effective instruction and deployment of staff in their duties while also performing varied hands-on duties.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chef Manager in kitchen operations.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Prepare and present meals according to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 & 2).
• Essential: Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent within two years of commencing employment. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

• Permanent and term-time unless stated otherwise.
• From October 2016, all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will need to demonstrate the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for their role.
