Overview

- Are you passionate about logistics and ready to deliver exceptional customer service? Spider Web Recruitment is looking for a dynamic to join Spider Web Recruitment's Support team in London Gateway, Stanford - le - Hope, Essex on a full-time basis.

Your role:

As a Traffic Operator, you will be part of a dedicated and professional team responsible for delivering high-quality service to an internationally dedicated client base. Your main purpose will be to provide an efficient and cost-effective collection and delivery service using sub-contract haulage and optimal ferry routes.

Key responsibilities:

• Day-to-day planning to ensure customer delivery times are met whilst ensuring maximum productivity.
• Communicating with sub-contractors to ensure drivers are fully aware of their individual timetables.
• Matching collections and deliveries to satisfy customer needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
• Informing the Commercial team of any likely service failures.
• Making ferry bookings.
• Constantly monitoring the day's planning and adjusting as necessary.
• Handling relevant administrative work, such as updating systems, addressing driver queries, and updating load registers.
• Ensuring legal compliance, including monitoring drivers' adherence to safety guidelines regarding load security.

About you:

You will need good geographical knowledge of the UK, Ireland, and Europe, including tolls and tunnel restrictions. Knowledge of UK/EU customs requirements and sound IT skills, including MS Office and MS Teams, are essential. You should possess strong time management, organizational, and communication skills, able to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Flexibility to work alternating shift patterns, including weekends, is required, along with the ability to cover out-of-hours phone calls.
