Are you an organised and motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to support the Safeguarding Service at West Berkshire Council? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the Service Manager for Safeguarding Adults, ensuring the smooth operation of the Safeguarding team.

About the Role

As the Administrative Assistant for Safeguarding, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the Service Manager, including diary management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Handling incoming enquiries and directing them to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases, ensuring information is up to date and easily accessible.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes, and following up on action points.
  • Supporting the overall administrative functions of the Safeguarding team.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in an administrative role is essential, ideally within a public sector or local authority environment.

Salary

The maximum salary for this role is £25,119 per annum, pro rata for part-time hours.

This role is fixed term until 08/12/25 (backfill for secondment).
