Are you an organised and dedicated individual with a passion for providing excellent support within a care environment? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Laundry Assistant to join the Adult Social Care Team at Willows Edge Care Home, reporting to the Registered Manager.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of West Berkshire Council's residents by ensuring the highest standards of laundry services. As a Laundry Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to carry out laundry duties for West Berkshire Council's residents, ensuring that their clothing and linen are cleaned, maintained, and returned in a timely manner. You will play a crucial role in supporting the overall care experience by:

  • Performing laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding
  • Sorting and categorising items for laundering
  • Maintaining accurate records of laundry items
  • Ensuring the proper use and maintenance of laundry equipment
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations, including infection control measures

Skills and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in a similar laundry role, preferably within a care or hospitality environment
