About the Role
As a Customer Service Senior Officer, you will support the Operational Team Leader by answering queries, undertaking administrative tasks, and providing senior cover in their absence. This role involves being the first point of contact for customers through various channels, including telephone, webchat, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer customer queries and provide solutions.
- Process all enquiries in accordance with government requirements.
- Support team operations and assist with escalated complaints.
- Maintain a high level of customer service across multiple service areas.
Shift and Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Flexible hours between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM
What You Will Bring:
North Yorkshire Council is looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for customer service. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in a customer-focused environment, preferably in a call center.
- Knowledge of contact center operations.
- Proficiency in IT, including customer databases and Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of Data Protection legislation.
- Experience dealing with complaints and difficult enquiries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Innovative thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A full clean driving license, as travel may be required.

Education and Experience:
- A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
- Customer service experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Driving License (preferred)
