This is a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week, term time only, with a pro rata salary of £12,211 per annum.

The Opportunity

The Sustainable Transport team is focused on creating a safer, greener, and healthier environment through active travel and sustainable transport. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Transporting and maintaining a fleet of bicycles to schools across the county.
• Supporting government-funded projects by delivering bike maintenance programs.
• Organizing and presenting assemblies in primary schools to promote participation in Bikeability training.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage logistics for maintaining the bike fleet for Bikeability training.
• Liaise with schools regarding delivery and collection times for bicycles.
• Target schools with low participation in Bikeability training and organize promotional presentations.
• Organize cycle maintenance sessions and community events.
• Provide progress reports on the delivery of assemblies and maintenance sessions.
• Support the Active Travel Team in achieving objectives set in relevant policies.
• Promote active travel initiatives under the campaign for a safer, greener environment.
• Define annual individual and shared targets within the performance management framework.

Experience and Skills Required

• Cycle maintenance qualification (desirable).
• Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Collaborative skills to work with various stakeholders.
• Evidence of continuous professional development in a relevant area.
• Experience with public/sustainable transport initiatives.
• Familiarity with community engagement related to cycling or walking initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Additional Information

This role requires mobility throughout the operational area, necessitating a valid driving license or alternative means to meet mobility requirements.
