An exciting opportunity has arisen to join West Lothian Council's learning community within Dedridge Primary School, a non-denominational school serving part of the Dedridge community in West Lothian.
The school has a roll of 180, with 7 mainstream classes and 5 classes for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The staff includes the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, and Principal Teachers responsible for both the mainstream school and the Enhanced Resource Base (ERB).
The post holder will provide support for teachers and children to enhance experiences and achievements. Key responsibilities include:
- General supervision, safety, care, and well-being of children.
- Supporting pupils within the ERB and implementing school strategies to improve pupil performance in areas such as:
- Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support (SCERTS).
- Transitions within the school and the local community.
- Behavior support and relationships with peers and staff.
- Progress in learning and attainment.
Good communication skills are essential, and enjoyment in teamwork is vital. The post holder will work in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure a high-quality student experience and provide a differentiated curriculum for children in the Autism Resource.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made.
The successful candidate will need to register with the SSSC within six months of commencement, with an application required within three months of starting.
