Job Overview
As a Social Worker with Northumberland County Council, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and young people across South East Northumberland. Your duties will include managing a mixed caseload, including children in need (CIN), child protection (CP), and looked after children (LAC). You will provide direct social work intervention to children, young people, and families within the community. Using the Signs of Safety model, Northumberland County Council's team works collaboratively to ensure that children’s safety and wellbeing are at the heart of every decision.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a diverse caseload of children and families
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans in line with statutory requirements
- Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure children’s needs are met
- Ensure all cases are managed in compliance with legislation and best practice
- Provide timely reports and attend meetings, conferences, and reviews
- Support families and children through interventions aimed at improving safety and wellbeing
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration
- Experience working in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding and child protection
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Ability to manage complex caseloads with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professional development and a passion for safeguarding children
