Parent Champion Volunteers

Overview

Sendias Bathnes offers free, impartial and confidential information, advice, and support to children and young people between the ages of 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents/carers.

About the Role

Bath and North East Somerset Council is currently recruiting for Parent Champions, to volunteer for a few hours a week (or fortnight). In this role, you will attend events such as school coffee mornings or support groups across BANES. You will chat with families about what Sendias Bathnes does and signpost them to other local services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with families to provide information about SEND services.
• Participate in local events and meetings.
• Offer support to parents and young people navigating local services.

Flexibility

These are very flexible roles, with times and locations to suit you.

Training and Support

Bath and North East Somerset Council will provide you with training, ongoing support, and cover reasonable expenses incurred during your volunteering.
