Job Summary
Allington's Motor Group is seeking a reliable and motivated Parts Driver to join Allington's Motor Group's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of parts to various locations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of the delivery process. The Parts Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring that Allington's Motor Group's operations run smoothly by providing essential support to Allington's Motor Group's warehouse and delivery functions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van or similar vehicle to deliver parts to designated locations.
- Load and unload parts, ensuring that all items are handled with care and in accordance with safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Build and maintain a professional relationship with new and existing trade/ retail customers, efficiently responding to their enquiries and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures for receipt of goods.
- Perform routine vehicle checks to ensure safe operation, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of parts.
- Parts pre-picking, locating, booking, and invoicing.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence is preferred, with experience as a van driver or delivery driver being advantageous.
- Experience in one of these brands Kia / Peugeot / Citroen / Vauxhall or a proven history within the motor vehicle industry would be an advantage.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during deliveries and warehouse tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is desirable but not mandatory.
- A proactive attitude towards safety and adherence to company policies is essential.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required based on operational needs.
