My client is an international Renewable Energy Developer with a proven track record of building, owning, and operating renewable energy projects. They have a significant pipeline of projects in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) space and have recently secured £200 million in investment, reflecting their robust growth trajectory.
Job Overview
This position is crucial for the ongoing development of their projects in the UK. The Development Manager will be responsible for managing various greenfield development projects from the concept design phase to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Project management of multiple greenfield development projects, including:
- Creation and management of project timelines to ensure timely planning application submissions.
- Leadership and coordination of core project teams, including design, grid, and land work packages.
- Budget and risk management.
- Delivery and management of planning applications for key BESS projects.
- Procurement and oversight of external environmental and planning consultants to conduct necessary assessments for planning applications.
- Stakeholder engagement with statutory consultees and local communities.
- Design management, including coordination with external consultants with expertise in BESS designs.
- Acting as Principal Designer to develop site-specific designs suitable for planning.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in project development and consents within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of the UK consenting process, including environmental assessments.
- Proven experience in managing project teams and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in managing external consultants and engaging stakeholders effectively.
- General knowledge of grid, design, and land elements essential for project development.
