Wheel Shop Fitter - Rotations

Overview

Introduction

At DB Cargo UK, Deutsche Bahn AG're looking for a Fitter to join Deutsche Bahn AG's Wheel Shop Maintenance Team at Stoke.

As a Wheel Shop Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining, overhauling, and refurbishing rolling stock in accordance with the relevant regime and specification.

Shift Pattern

The shift pattern for this role will work on a 4-week rotation of days and nights.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, overhaul, and refurbish rolling stock in accordance with the relevant regime and specification.
• Conduct fault finding, rectification work, damage repairs, modifications, and other necessary tasks.
• Ensure stock levels are maintained and stored correctly.
• Order and reorder stock as required.
• Carry out damage reports and overload inspections on behalf of the customer, providing all necessary documentation including photographs.
• Complete all relevant documentation relating to work carried out on any rolling stock vehicle.
• File and store all rolling stock documentation appropriately.
• Be flexible in weekly work, which includes weekend work and overtime.
• May be required to work at other outstation depots.

You will be required to work 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, on a 4-week rotation of days and nights. There is also an opportunity for overtime.

• Demonstrated experience within the maintenance sector.
• Qualifications within an engineering discipline would be advantageous.
• Rail industry experience would also be an advantage.
