OVERVIEW OF THE JOB

CATS Global Schools is currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join CATS Global Schools's Catering Department on a full-time basis working 40 hours per week over a 2 week shift pattern; you will be required to work every other weekend. This is not a term-time role only. The position is a varied role, ideal for an individual with prior kitchen/catering experience looking to enhance their skill set and gain further knowledge within the industry.

Typical daily duties include:

  • Cleaning the canteen and kitchen to a high standard
  • Assisting chefs with food preparation
  • Making sandwiches and baguettes for the coffee bar
  • Providing front of house service to staff and students

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the catering establishment
  • Recording fridge and freezer temperatures in line with food safety regulations
  • Adhering to Health & Safety standards to ensure safety of staff and students
  • Reporting all issues in the day-to-day running of the kitchen to the Head Chef

The post holder will have the ultimate responsibility for all the above functions. He or she will need to possess a caring attitude and a good sense of customer service. An ability to work independently as well as being a good team player is essential. Experience gained within a residential environment would be beneficial.
