Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join Rethink Mental Illness's inspiring team at Lincolnshire Crisis Accommodation & Helpline Service. This position is a fixed-term contract until 19-Jul-2025.
Field View Crisis accommodation provides 4 Crisis beds for individuals experiencing mental health issues, offering support 24/7. The maximum stay is 7 nights, and Rethink Mental Illness's services cater to individuals aged 16 and above, including access to Rethink Mental Illness's helpline, Lincsline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide key worker support to a specified number of service users, offering one-on-one support and liaising with other mental health agencies.
- Ensure the individual’s needs are prioritized, utilizing communication, motivation, and coaching skills to help service users achieve their goals.
- Develop a rapport with service users based on respect and honesty while adhering to professional boundaries and Rethink Mental Illness's Code of Conduct.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Transferable life or work experience relevant to this role.
- Strong listening skills, with empathy, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated behaviors that align with the values of Rethink Mental Illness's charity.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental illness or providing care in a social care setting is a plus.
