North Yorkshire Council is currently recruiting a school Cook to work at Huby Primary School near York. Huby is a lovely village on the outskirts of York with excellent road links to York, Easingwold, and surrounding villages. If you have never worked for North Yorkshire Council, you could also be eligible to receive a £350 joining incentive.
Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious food within a budget while adhering to food legislation.
- Maintaining an effective catering service to the highest standards of food safety.
- Food preparation and cooking.
- Serving meals to students and staff.
- Food ordering and stock management.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment.
- Recording and documenting all relevant information following North Yorkshire Council's food safety management system.
Work Schedule
You will work 26.25 hours per week over 5 days, specifically:
- No weekend work!
- Term-time weeks only, with equal monthly payments throughout the year.
Compensation
You will be paid £12.38 per hour, with annual holiday and Bank Holiday entitlement. A pay award is pending, which is expected to increase this amount.
