Overview

As a Materials Management Clerk, you will play a critical role in managing the relationship between the nursing staff across various wards and the Materials Management function. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly liaising with ward and department managers to identify and resolve stock issues.
  • Providing assistance and guidance on stock levels, product range, and stock management procedures.
  • Delivering monthly usage reports obtained from the NHSSC website.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of stock levels on each ward/department and ensuring timely replenishment using the Trust's inventory management system.
  • Checking for accuracy, unpacking, and organizing weekly/daily stock replenishment orders.
  • Resolving discrepancies concerning stock through liaison with customers and external suppliers.
  • Advising on appropriate actions for uplifts and return policies.
  • Facilitating the Trust-wide year-end stock valuation.
  • Undertaking the stock counting process to ensure compliance with the Trust's Standing Financial Instruction.
  • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies or errors found in ward valuation figures.

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clinical and support staff.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management.
  • Experience with inventory management systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
