Overview

This role supports the effective running of Penicuik Town Hall (Cowan Institute). The 16 hours will be worked to meet the needs of the building and user groups/lets. Overtime may be available. Training on procedures and skills will be provided.

Knowledge Requirements

All jobholders are required to be numerate, effective communicators, and experienced in dealing with the public. Previous caretaking/cleaning experience is desirable.

Position Title: Cleaner/Caretaker

Contract Status: Fixed term until 31/12/2026

Hours of Work: 16 hours per week

Working Pattern: Hours can include Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu afternoons/evenings; Sat morning-afternoon. Weeks per year: 52.

Based on 16 hours over 52 weeks, the minimum salary is £10,945.28 per annum.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Adults. You will need to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment, the cost of which will be met by you.
