Gregory Distribution is pleased to advertise the position of Transport Planner based at Gregory Distribution Ltd's busy client site in Avonmouth.

Position Overview

The position of Transport Planner involves:

• Planning and organising the activities of the Transport Operation, including deliveries and collections nationwide.
• Planning loads using a fleet of articulated vehicles.
• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed as per customer requirements whilst monitoring KPI for delivery on time, shift revenue, and vehicle utilisation.
• Managing and de-briefing drivers on a daily/weekly basis.
• Liaising with the warehouse and on-site shunter to ensure that trailers and vehicles are available when required.
• Ensuring vehicle checks and defects are completed and recorded via Vehicle Check App.
• Communicating collection times and delivery bookings with both internal and external customers.
• Meeting on a regular basis with Line Managers to ensure efficient operations.
• Identifying and developing additional areas to add value to the contract.
• Ensuring all contracted work is booked through Gregory Distribution Ltd's internal department in line with customer expectations.
• Meeting daily revenue KPI Targets and reporting to the Transport Manager weekly.
• Ensuring all TMS systems related to contracted deliveries are updated and monitored.
• Performing general administration duties including filing, photocopying, and data input.
• Adhering to policies and procedures within the Business Area.

Essential Skills Required

• Previous experience in a similar role within the retail logistics sector is advantageous but not necessary.
• Strong geographical knowledge is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
