What's involved with this role:

Role: Marine Engineer / Technical Engineer

Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate

Contract Length: Initially 9 months

Location: Portsmouth - some travel to the Head office in Croydon is required. Expenses will be covered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering Technical Superintendent for designated vessels.
• Arrange, facilitate and oversee maintenance and recertification periods.
• Maintain the material aspects and operational availability of the vessels.
• Ensure the vessels remain certified to all legislative requirements.
• Liaise with the Border Force Maritime finance team.
• Audit contract invoices against agreed and completed works.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring support to CPV crews.
• Monitor vessel usage and machinery servicing requirements.

Essential Requirements:

• STCW Engineering OOW or Deck OOW to STCW lll/2 or higher or equivalent.
• Up to date STCW Safety Certification or equivalent.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Desired:

• Relevant maritime background and experience.
• Understanding of the work of Border Force and the wider Home Office.

Security Clearance: SC highly desirable; candidates with active SC clearance will be fast-tracked.
