Job Details
Fife council in partnership with sport Scotland and through the Workforce Youth Investment programme is looking to recruit an Assistant Active Schools Co-ordinator within the Active Schools team, Education.
Fife Council is committed to creating employment and training opportunities for the young people of Fife. This post is part of that commitment and is funded through the Workforce Youth Investment programme. It is restricted to applicants who live in Fife and are aged between 16 and 24 by the specified start date.
The Role
The role will include:
- Preparing and leading a series of appropriate lesson plans, providing clear instructions and demonstrations.
- Providing opportunities for all children to participate in sport and physical activity.
- Identifying and developing an understanding of the needs of children and young people in relation to sport.
- Building links with partner agencies and the local community.
- Support Active Schools Coordinators in building a sustainable volunteer network.
- Measuring and reporting the impact of Active Schools through data collection and evaluation.
The Person
You will be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline or have experience of working with children in an education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation environment.
Experience in delivering projects in these areas is essential, demonstrating the ability to facilitate high-standard sessions.
Good organization, interpersonal and communication skills are required, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
