Overview

There is an exciting opportunity to join Longmoor House as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. This role requires a full advanced practice masters and offers the chance to shape the future of urgent care services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and participate in the clinical care of patients accessing the service.
  • Prioritise workload and clinical interventions as appropriate.
  • Provide a level of advanced and comprehensive health assessment based on a specialist body of knowledge.
  • Assess, examine, investigate, diagnose, and treat patients, ensuring safe management and appropriate referral or discharge.
  • Ensure patients are informed and consent is gained prior to treatment.
  • Supervise and develop junior team members.
  • Identify the need for diagnostic tests, interpret results, and act on any results requiring intervention.
  • Identify and intervene to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and relatives.
  • Share knowledge and act as an expert resource within Urgent Care.
  • Contribute to the development of systems that facilitate patient flow and timely discharge.
  • Improve the quality of the patient experience by meeting individual clinical needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Adapt clinical knowledge and skills to different settings, influencing service delivery and patient care.
  • Promote adherence to the Trust’s clinical governance framework.
  • Lead on the review and implementation of NICE guidance.
  • Support junior staff with clinical competencies.
  • Act as a key link for communication between teams and educate staff in specific areas of expertise.
  • Lead clinical audits.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Must have completed the Independent Non-Medical Prescribing course and hold registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Ability to adapt specialist clinical knowledge and skills to various clinical settings.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
