The role of Assistant Director/Consultant in Public Health is a senior position within the Public Health Directorate and will report to the Director of Public Health.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Director/Consultant in Public Health (CPH) will be expected to work in partnership with other teams at the Council and external stakeholders to help deliver this vision and improve outcomes for Portsmouth City Council's residents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic leadership and management within the Public Health Directorate.
  • Commissioning and/or direct delivery of public health services.
  • Working flexibly within the public health team and adapting to the needs of the population.
  • Collaboration with children's and families services, Adult Social Care, and NHS HIOW (ICB).
  • Leadership in shaping and driving public health initiatives on Prevention and Health Inequalities.
