Advocacy is a powerful force for change, allowing individuals to express their views and be heard in decisions about their health and social care. The Advocacy People is an independent charity, one of the UK’s largest providers of advocacy services.
As an advocate, you will support vulnerable individuals who cannot speak up for themselves. This role focuses on Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) and operates within the frameworks of the Mental Capacity Act and Care Act.
About the Role
The Advocacy People seek a permanent, multi-skilled advocate for The Advocacy People's Kent team, working 37 hours per week. Part-time hours (minimum 30 hours) are also considered. The starting salary is £23,314 per annum (pro rata).
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting individuals in expressing their views and understanding their rights.
- Communicating effectively with clients and professionals.
- Traveling regularly in the Thanet/East Kent area, requiring a stable home broadband and mobile signal.
