Assistant Catalogue & Packaging Designer

This role requires a combination of strong design skills and the ability to assist in coordinating product packing briefs. As a member of these dynamic teams, you will contribute to creating visually appealing and engaging catalogues while providing support to our product packing coordinator when needed.

What will you do on a normal day?

  • Supporting the catalogue production team with the design of the UK and overseas catalogues
  • Creating finished copy and artwork by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for output
  • Work in partnership with the campaign and creative teams to understand briefs, develop project plans and define time frames for pieces of work
  • Preparing for delivery of multiple briefs by gathering information and materials
  • Building and managing effective day to day relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure communication of successes and barriers
  • Working independently and making decisions to ensure successful delivery of all briefs
  • Master our internal processes and software – including content management and proofing
  • Helping deliver printed collateral on time and to agreed budgets
  • Multi-tasking and planning multiple projects at any one time
  • Liaising with team members to receive feedback and create improvements to processes

What are we looking for?

  • Full Creative Suite minimum 2 years’ experience: graphic design skills; layout skills
  • Experience of printed collateral planning preferred
  • Strong communication skills to inform stakeholders of progress and status
  • Ability to multi-task and plan multiple briefs at any one time as necessary
  • Results orientated and enthusiastic
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • A flexible approach when working across two teams
  • Being open to feedback and willing to evolve your work
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when finalising designs
  • Experience and understanding of key function dates and deadlines
  • A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude is essential
  • Good knowledge of Excel
