About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Wastewater Tactical Planning team at an exciting time as we develop our AMP8 investment plans utilising our Copperleaf Portfolio for investment optimisation.

In this role you will take full responsibility for asset needs in a geographical area working with a wide range of stakeholders in the business and progressing issues through Copperleaf Portfolio.  You will maintain excellent communication with your stakeholders and understand the business drivers in the wastewater service.

We are looking for you to confidently analyse information and assess risk and benefits to support value-based optimisation and decision making for asset needs.  In this role you will develop Project Briefs that outline the asset need, root cause, service/performance risk, viable potential solutions using the totex hierarchy and undertake cost benefit assessment to develop a recommended solution that maximises value. You will be a key stakeholder owning a capital project intervention or sub-programme until it is passed to our Capital Delivery team.

About you

We’re looking for the successful candidate to have proven experience of working with a range of stakeholders with strong communication and influencing skills. The ability to build good working relationships within your own team, with departments across the business and with supply partners is essential.

You’ll be comfortable interpreting a wide range of information and have excellent analytical skills which you have used to interpret complex data and produce accurate written reports. Experience of using Excel and Word is essential.

You will have a confident and flexible approach to planning and managing your time effectively to meet the needs of the team.  You will be expected to use initiative to challenge, ensuring that our activities and plans deliver maximum value for the business.

It would be beneficial for you to have asset management experience or qualification and knowledge of wastewater network or treatment processes. Knowledge of an engineering discipline would be beneficial. Whether you are a recent graduate or have relevant asset management experience, we are keen to hear how you can join our team and make a positive difference.

Here at Northumbrian Water/Essex & Suffolk Water, Diversity, Inclusion and Equity means bringing your full self to work. We encourage and welcome applications from all underrepresented groups, as we believe and strive for community representation within all our teams, structures and organisation.
