Citizens Advice, in partnership with Trussell, provides a freephone helpline for people who need help to obtain a food parcel from their local food bank. The helpline offers essential information and advice on issues causing financial hardship, enabling clients to progress in their situations. This role is crucial as it supports those facing difficult times.
Salary
£27,500 - £28,500 according to experience (pro rata full-time salary).
Location
Remote delivery with an option to work from the office in Hammersmith & Fulham.
Workplace
Hybrid working environment available.
Contract Details
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025.
Hours per Week
Part-time options available between 2.5 to 5 days a week.
About the Role
As a Helpline Adviser, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing that the client cannot afford food by thoroughly exploring the causes of their financial hardship and providing the necessary information and advice.
- Issuing food bank vouchers where appropriate and/or signposting to local services.
- Writing up case notes in accordance with Citizens Advice national standards.
Helpline Advisers receive close support from supervisors and have access to extensive resources, making them integral members of the Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham team. Citizens Advice have 7 working days available and welcome applications from candidates seeking a minimum of 2.5 to 5 days per week.
This role is well suited for hybrid working, with opportunities for remote work or being office-based if preferred.
Application Process
The selection process includes a two-stage assessment consisting of a test (mock client call and write-up) followed by an interview for successful candidates.
Interview Dates
Interviews will be held on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November 2024. Early applications are encouraged as Citizens Advice reserve the right to close applications once suitable candidates are found.
