The Role

The Able Seaman is responsible for ensuring safety, security, pollution prevention, and efficient ship operation.

Principal Responsibilities

• Carry out all orders safely and efficiently
• Maintain equipment and vessel structures
• Perform duties as Coxswain or workboat crew member
• Assist deck officers in cargo operations
• Operate counter pollution equipment
• Perform Helmsman duties
• Participate in mooring and anchoring tasks
• Assist Engineering staff in maintenance
• Handle ship operational tasks, such as mooring work
• Undertake necessary training to meet regulations
