University Hospitals Birmingham have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Band 3 Housekeeping Team Leader to join University Hospitals Birmingham's busy Housekeeping Department. University Hospitals Birmingham is looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role involves providing supervisory support to University Hospitals Birmingham's large housekeeping team that ensures high-quality cleaning services.

Responsibilities

• Allocate daily work instructions to Housekeeping Assistants.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels across the Trust and adjust as needed.
• Monitor staff duties and provide training for unfamiliar areas.
• Manage and approve staff leave according to departmental protocols.
• Conduct formal monitoring of cleaning tasks and record findings.

Skills and Experience Requirements

Qualifications

Essential

• Basic education to GCSE level, including Maths and English.
• Willingness to undertake training in cleaning and infection control.

Desirable

• Certificate in First Line Supervisory Management.

Experience

Essential

• Knowledge of NHS Cleaning Standards and health & safety regulations.

Desirable

• Formal Management Training and understanding of equality and diversity.
