This is an exciting opportunity to join Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's busy Acute Medicine Department at Kings Mill Hospital. Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a self-motivated, innovative individual with excellent attention to detail. In this apprenticeship, you will thrive in a dynamic office setting, making it suitable for individuals with strong organisational and time management skills.

Working under the supervision of the acute medical secretaries and operations support officer, you will develop a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in all aspects of Acute Medicine administration work. The successful apprentice will undertake a Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification and will be employed directly by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust for the duration of the apprenticeship, with possible progression opportunities beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial services across the Acute Medicine Department.
  • Support the Department with cross-cover responsibilities for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's teams, including providing a communicative link for internal and external enquiries.
  • Data entry into Trust systems.
  • Assist with and manage the diaries of the Consultants within the team.
  • Support with departmental meetings.
  • Support the Records Assistants to ensure all filing is completed promptly and timely.
  • Conduct general office duties such as photocopying, filing, and taking telephone messages.
  • Shadow the Acute Medicine professionals to gain insight and knowledge of the role.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
