Role Purpose

With a range of baggage handling responsibilities, you'll be one of a team looking after the belongings of millions of people setting off on all kinds of journeys. Whether you're loading or unloading, manually or mechanically, you'll be a safe pair of hands that gets their luggage wherever it needs to be, and at the right time. You'll carry out aircraft and equipment inspections and hazard checks, reporting any faults and taking care of the paperwork needed to get the job done.

Following safety, security and airline-specific procedures, you'll put Menzies Aviation's customers' - and their customers' - needs at the heart of everything you do.

What you will be doing

• Carry out tasks allocated in the baggage hall.
• On-load and off-load baggage manually or mechanically, in accordance with the relevant training received.
• Gather, input and process all data and documentation necessary for the fulfillment of the success of the operation, by manual, automated or computerized systems, including weather reporting.
• Undertake all relevant baggage sortation duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Carry out area hazard checks.

You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and of others whilst at work. You must carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.

• Aptitude for working with a variety of information technology.
• A full 5 year work/unemployment/education history.
• Proof of Right To Work in the UK.
